“We never look at just one thing; we are always looking at the relation between things and ourselves. Our vision is continually active, continually moving, continually holding things in a circle around itself, constituting what is present to us as we are” (Berger. 9).

  1. Emiliegh ,yours was the first post I looked at from this assignment, and I absolutely loved it! Not only is it bright and cheery and colorful, but it also is a great map of your definition of coolness. The pictures are lovely, and the words meaningful. You rock, my friend. Rock.

  2. I love the Mia Hamm picture. She is cool for so much more than soccer; I think what really makes her cool is her perseverance and determination, and the fact that she was revolutionary at what she did. You're collage is awesome, a great representation of your view of cool.

  3. I'm always interested when people look at sports figures what exactly they are admiring. Sure, sports players are cool, but why? The most obvious reason is their drive and determination, but it's also the allure of money. What is it for you that makes sports and other outdoor activities so cool?

  4. Adrenaline. I enjoy doing something that A)not everyone does and B)isn't necessarily safe. Also, it feels good to become good at it. I think I'll always strive to master anything that challenges me. Its part of who I am and what I like to do.

  5. There's something interesting here about the juxtaposition of motion and stillness -- people in motion, nature as timeless. What do you think is going on there, or am I way off?
